Q:
Hi, Can you please tell me the reason for the different bore sizes. Do paint balls all come in different sizes? I thought they all came in .68 (+/- the manufacturer tolerances)right? In addition how does the insert effect the shot. I'm sure its like a choke some how. Please educate me. Thanks in advance, MikeAsked on 2/28/2013 by michael from United States1 answer
A:
You are correct that all paintballs are .68 caliber but they vary in their actual size. Some paintball batches can be as small as .678 caliber and some as large as .695 caliber. The different size barrel backs allow you to match the exact paintball you are using to the barrel. This will give you the most consistent shots as will as the best accuracy. If the ball is to tight for the barrel, you will have excessive ball breakage. If the ball is to big for the barrel, your accuracy will be off, efficiency of the gun will decrease and the consistency of the shot will drastically decrease.Answered on 4/19/2013 by Staff from Simi Valley, CA
